Plain-English help

Blacklist check FAQ for beginners

Does this check every blacklist?

No. It reports the independent observations stored by WhatIsMyIP.live and does not claim universal coverage of all commercial blocklists.

Can a clean IP still send spam?

Yes. Reputation changes quickly and a new or compromised address may not yet have a recorded signal.

Why are residential IPs sometimes listed?

Malware, open relays, reused dynamic addresses or abusive traffic can affect an address that later belongs to another customer.

What should I do after a warning?

Confirm the IP, check mail and server logs, remove any compromise, then follow the relevant source’s delisting process.
