192.168.1.2 is part of private or reserved IP range of 192.168.1.1 - 192.168.1.255. 192.168.1.2 IP address is usually used within private networks such as home networks or small business internal networks. 192.168.1.0 is tpyically assigned manually to each connecting device.

192.168.1.2 is a private IP address where it is it part of 192.168.xxx.xxx range, reserved for private use only. Zyxel router setup

Connect your computer to the LAN port of the Zyxel router.

  1. The default IP address of the yxel router in access point mode is "192.168.1.2". In this case, your computer must have an IP address in the range between "192.168.1.3" and "192.168.1.254".
  2. Click Start -> Run on your computer in Windows. Type "cmd" in the dialog box. Enter "ipconfig" to show your computer's IP address. If your computer's IP address is not in the correct range then check how to change your computer IP address.
  3. After you've set your computer's IP address, open a web browser such as Internet Explorer and type "http://192.168.1.2" as the web address in your web browser.

Note: Default password is "1234".

Fortinet routers

192.168.1.2 is used by FAP-112B, FAP-210B and FortiAP-14C (FAP-14C) routers and access points.

1. Connect the unit and configure the management computer as described in the “Connecting Your FortiAP Unit” chapter.

2. Start a browser of your choice and type http://192.168.2. in the address bar and visit it like normal web page..

3. Type admin in the Name field, leave the Password field blank, and select Login.

Once you are logged in you can make changes to router settings, change passwords and much more.

192.168.1.2 is not my router address

If you cannot load 192.168.1.2 page and you cannot find router address on your router label please follow the steps below to get the router address:

For windows

  1. Open command prompt by going to Start -> Command Prompt or Go to Start - > RUN -> type "cmd" and press enter.
  2. A black screen will come up
  3. Type ipconfig & hit enter
  4. A detailed router configuration including router IP will come up (look for default gateway IP address)

For Linux

  1. Open terminal / cmd
  2. type "ifconfig" and hit enter
  3. A detailed router information will show up inlcuding router main / default gateway IP address
